change body temperature instead of wasting energy treating air
article by: WIRED
Wristify, as they call their device, is a thermoelectric bracelet that regulates the temperature of the person wearing it by subjecting their skin to alternating pulses of hot or cold, depending on what’s needed. The prototype recently won first place at this year’s MADMEC, an annual competition put on by the school’s Materials Science and Engineering program, netting the group a $10,000 prize, which they’ll use to continue its development. It’s a promising start to a clever approach that could help alleviate a serious energy crisis. But as Sam Shames, the MIT senior who helped invent the technology, explains, the team was motivated by a more prosaic problem: keeping everyone happy in a room where no one can agree where to set the thermostat.

animation turned up to eleven: audience participation required
it's up to the viewer to actively watch and follow the action with there personal viewing device. animation will be composed inside a 360 degree world of view adding to the list of various material using a panorama presentation as their medium. Google is one example of a company incorporating 360 degree visuals to help the viewer's experience with understanding a location at street level before actually traveling to that location. Video games seem to be one of the first variations to use a 360 presentation with participation as other entities, such as; Maps/streets, star gazing, animation/video/film, virtual tours, and large format photography are becoming more user friendly with the new medium. Can you think of other entities that I missed?

Prince Rupert's Drop
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince_Rupert's_Drop
"The very high residual stress within the drop gives rise to unusual qualities, such as the ability to withstand a blow from a hammer on the bulbous end without breaking, while the drop will disintegrate explosively if the tail end is even slightly damaged." - wiki
